Family nurse benefits

The Family Nurse Partnership has good potential to benefit children's health and well-being, according to an independent evaluation of the toddler phase of the programme (12-14 months old).

The evaluation builds on two earlier reports and suggests that the FNPcan be successfully delivered across England with potential for positiveoutcomes for families as well as substantial cost savings. In October,health secretary Andrew Lansley pledged to double the number ofdisadvantaged families to benefit from the programme, from just over6,000 to 13,000 by 2015.
