Children with special needs will benefit from an extra 8m earmarked by the Scottish Executive to improve their access to buildings and the curriculum. Annual spending on accessibility strategies will increase from 9m to 17m by 2006. Education minister Cathy Jamieson said, 'We are committed to ensuring that all children in Scotland can achieve their full potential. This investment will help schools and nurseries prepare for pupils with a range of disabilities.' Spending on the Executive's inclusion programme will rise from 20m to 25 by 2005.
