Recruitment is underway for the second year-long course leading to a Scot Nanny Diploma, starting in May. Scotland's first nanny school was launched by ScotNursing last year and the diploma course covers areas including first aid, baby care, child development and domestic skills, with work experience placements. ScotCollege principal Elizabeth Miller says, 'We are training nannies to meet the needs of the modern family. What we look for in a future nanny is someone who is self-motivated and enthusiastic and who possesses common sense and the ability to use their own initiative. By achieving a Scot Nanny Diploma our nannies will not only be able to work in Scotland but will have the necessary skills to work in a number of countries in live-in, part-time or full-time positions.'
