Use a bee to help the children develop awareness of their own bodies.

Resources

Cardboard tubes, buttons, glue, cellophane, yellow and black paint.

Step by step

* Paint the cardboard tubes in yellow and black stripes to resemble a bee.

* When dry, cut out cellophane wings and attach them to the body of the bee.

* Glue on two small buttons for the bee's eyes.

* Place your fingers in the bee and fly it about, landing it on different parts of the body as you say the following rhyme, (changing the body part each time).

A bee, sat on my knee, and said Buzz, buzz buzz.

Can you see me, can you see me (repeat)

* We would love to hear your tip ideas!

Those we use will win a free copy of one of Nursery World's 'All About' activity books. Or to buy one for 9.99, call our Bookshop on 01454 617 370.
