Childcarers are urged to get their nominations in for children who deserve special recognition in the Kids' Clubs Direct National Children's Awards.

The annual event, sponsored by ScottishPower Learning in association with Nursery World Scotland, is open to children aged from nought to 16.

The four categories to choose from are: 'Making a Difference', for children who have made a huge difference to the lives of others; 'Learning through Involvement', for children who demonstrate they have learned something new by working as part of a small team; 'Building Community Spirit', for outstanding achievements in good citizenship; and 'Reaching for the Stars', which recognises achievements in the face of adversity.

Christine McGrory, managing director of Kids' Clubs Direct, said, 'We want to give children and young people a chance to get their contributions recognised, with the hope that it will build the confidence they need to achieve and be the best they can when they grow up.'

Inspirational adults who offer outstanding support are also eligible to enter the adult category 'A Bright Future for Children'.

The closing date for entries is 15 October. For more information contact Kids' Club Direct on 0845 045 4214 or email Christine@kidsclubsdirect.com.
