Scotland's education minister Peter Peacock met with local authorities, voluntary organisations and parent associations in Edinburgh last week to discuss the Additional Support for Learning Bill, due to be introduced in Parliament later this year. The Bill will seek to modernise the current system for supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) and also mark a shift in terminology from the concept of SEN to Additional Support Needs (ASN), which will apply to all children who face difficulties in accessing education. Mr Peacock said, 'It is important that we work together to make this new legislation work.'
