Additional Support for Learning Act

A summary of Scottish education authorities' implementation of the first phase of the Additional Support for Learning Act published by HM Inspectorate of Education shows that while many more children, ranging from those with emotional issues to those being bullied, are now eligible for support, parents are not well informed about these changes. Enquire, an advice service for learning support, has launched a newsletter called 'Enquire within' to improve awareness among parents. The November issue focuses on the early years, and is available at www.enquire.org.uk. The Inspectorate's report can be downloaded at www.hmie.gov.uk.
