A primary and pre-school in North Yorkshire was closed last week after 160 children and staff were taken ill with a stomach virus. Thorpe Willoughby Primary School, near Selby, was closed for a day after being hit by the airborne infection, viral gastroenteritis. Public health officials advised children to stay off school for a further 48 hours after they stopped being ill.
