A grant of nearly 27,000 from Sure Start Northumberland will help the Cramlington Kids Club with the cost of providing new purpose-built premises. The club is managed voluntarily by a group of parent users on a not-for-profit basis. Further grant applications have been submitted for an IT suite, furniture and a burglar alarm system and there are plans to create a dedicated baby unit extension and outside play space. Chairwoman Helen Welsh said it provided a breakfast club, out-of-school activities, after-school club and a Saturday morning session for children from a range of backgrounds. 'We reside at Eastlea First School with a mission to become the premier provider of a unique complete wraparound childcare facility from babies to teens,' she added.
