A distance learning programme in child protection awareness has been launched by the NSPCC. The course is made up of four modules, which participants can complete at work or at home, and it is suitable as a refresher course or to introduce staff to child protection issues for the first time. NSPCC director and chief executive Mary Marsh said, 'We would like to see all health professionals and health service workers who are in contact with families have a grounding in child protection awareness. This programme is a good way to provide the basic training staff need and give them confidence to act on their concerns.'
