Q: We found a GPS tracker on a child while changing them. I’m unsure how to approach this – should I speak directly to the parents, and do we need a policy?

‘We have never come across a tracking device. But we had an experience where we found a sound recorder on a child. It was a young baby. When we discovered it, and realised the machine was recording, we were unsure how to proceed because we didn’t know if it was transmitting what we were saying in real time and someone was listening. We were astonished and shocked and our first action was to turn it off.
