Residents of Octavia Housing and Care, which manages about 4,000 homes in Hammersmith, Fulham, Westminster, and Kensington and Chelsea, can enrol on the NVQ Level 2 Early Years Care and Education, a one-year full-time and two-year part-time course. Reda Khelladi, Octavia's community development officer, said, 'Our scheme fits in with the national agenda - the need for childcare professionals and places. And we are helping residents overcome barriers of accessing education and the workplace.' Octavia is also offering an eight-week parenting skills course. Both courses start in September and places can be booked by contacting Octavia's community development team on 020 7460 4300.
