'The Miracle Maker'

(BBC 1, 2 to 3.30pm)

This animated film for children and adults uses an all-star cast to tell the story of Jesus Christ for Easter. Ralph Fiennes is Jesus, Richard E Grant is John the Baptist, Miranda Richardson is Mary Magdalene and Ian Holm Pontius Pilate. The film took Welsh and Russian animators four years to make.

'Archive Hour - Children's Hour'

(BBC Radio 4, 8.02 to 9pm)

Children's author and Monty Python comedian Terry Jones presents this celebration of English-language children's radio programmes from the late 1920s to the present, with archive excepts. It ranges from the theme to the 1930s Australian show 'Bobby Bluegum' and New Zealand's 'Uncle's Goodnight to the Little Folk' to the American programme 'Let's Pretend' and current programmes such as 'Kinetic Supercrew' which has around two million listeners every week.

'Go 4 It!'

(BBC Radio 4, 7.15 to 7.45pm)

Radio 4's new series for children launches with an interview with 'Thunderbirds' creator Gerry Anderson, now that the puppets are proving more popular than ever in repeats on BBC 2. There is also a film review slot whose first outing is to the Easter release 'Spykids', children's writer Philip Pullman reads the first episode of his spooky book, 'Clockwork', plus quizzes, competitions, jokes and much more.

'Correspondent'

(BBC 2, 7.20 to 8.05pm)

A report from Germany about the debate over whether its tough laws on protecting the human embryo should be relaxed and about the special test-tube baby technique PGD which allows doctors to avoid embryos with a genetic defect. The programme also visits Malta to hear how the community of Gozo has coped with the ethical questions raised by the birth of the conjoined twins Mary and Jodie and the operation to separate them.

'Book of the Week - William's Crowded Hours'

(BBC Radio 4, 9.45 to 10am each weekday)

Martin Jarvis reads five more 'Just William' stories by Richmal Crompton. They are, in order, 'William and the Tramp', 'Aunt Florence and the Green', 'William and the Begging Letter', 'William and the Temporary History Master', and 'William and the Badminton'.

'Body Story - Crash'

(Channel 4, 9 to 10pm)

The first in a new series of six programmes looking at critical moments in human life and the inner workings of the human body. Using a blend of drama and computer animation, this first programme explores the processes of damage and repair which two people experience in the severe trauma of a car crash. David is knocked unconscious and left in a coma while Laura seems to get off more lightly, but there is dangerous and hidden internal bleeding.
