This is a robust, solid boardbook perfect for early readers and small hands to discover more about delicious eggs.
Readers are taken on a simple narrative which starts in the morning when a hen lays an egg, through to cooking and eating the egg, to the nighttime when the hen goes back to sleep.
This is a lovely resource to introduce readers to basic vocabulary around all things to do with eggs, through fun, rhyming text.
Reinforced with colourful illustrations that even non-readers will be able to understand, these flood the pages and help create an immersive experience.
Perhaps not the most exciting storyline, this is certainly an informative and instructive book.
Cut-outs and peak-through pages are perfect for introducing an understanding of an egg shape in a fun and intriguing way for young readers, as well as supporting fine motor skills.
This is a great addition for any setting looking at and exploring more about eggs.

A beautiful boardbook covering a variety of different elements comprising a river, which will be useful for any settings looking to explore this topic.
Each double page takes a different element of a river, from habitats and ‘treasure keepers’ to happy places for humans, and builds a holistic understanding of how diverse rivers can be.
The text is clear and informative, which will help build readers' vocabulary and develop their understanding and knowledge of the world, particularly around topics associated with rivers. For example, the different flora and fauna found in and around rivers.
A real highlight of the book is the interactive tools on the pages. Lift-the-flaps and moving pieces reveal answers to questions posed in the text, further information and funny illustrations, all of which will keep readers engaged.
They also support fine motor co-ordination, as well as reinforce the meaning of the text in a fun and engaging manner.
Come What May

This is a lovely, gentle and funny book following two characters, Small and Large, as Small grapples with some big emotions.
Readers start with Small who is having a bad day and gets anxious as a result. They ask about how their different behaviours and reactions will stop Large from liking and/or loving them. The continual refrain of ‘I'll love you forever, come what may’ is a beautiful reassurance from Large. This is also a perfect refrain for young readers to memorise, and build their own confidence and understanding of their emotions and reactions too.
The illustrations are the real highlight, with each scenario that Small suggests shown in a light-hearted and often funny manner – which helps keep the text from being too intense. Small and Large are shown interacting in ways which help convey the warmth and love of the story, as well as creating a secure and intimate experience for readers. They will love to return again and again to these detail-rich illustrations.
This book is sure to be much enjoyed by all readers.
