'What I did on my holidays' is not just a well-worn school essay topic - it could win children, their families, and maybe even their nanny a week at a holiday resort in the Mediterranean. The BBC's Young Travel Writer of 2001 competition invites children to imagine they are a newspaper reporter and write a story no more than 250 words long about their holiday. Full details and advice are available in the new issues of the three BBC Learning Together magazines, which are aimed at children aged five to seven, though all ages are welcome to enter. Send entries before 6 November to BBC Learning Together, Young Travel Writer 2001, Room A1130, BBC Worldwide, 80 Wood Lane, London W12 0TT. Meanwhile, next month the BBC is launching a new educational magazine for pre-school children called Toybox Teach Me.
