- How did the pre-school become one of the first settings in Devon toreceive the I CAN Early Talk accreditation?
The accreditation was organised through Devon County Council. We agreedto take part in the assessment. An early years advisor trained staff andwe had to submit a portfolio providing evidence on how we communicatewith parents, children and the team. We made a few changes, but mostthings we already had in place.
- How did you feel when you were told you had passed?
It's a great Christmas present for us all. The staff all work reallywell together as a team and the accreditation is great confirmation ofthis. We are going out to lunch to celebrate.
- What are the pre-school's plans?
We will continue to maintain our standards ready for the next I CANassessment in three years' time, and have just received a grant from thecouncil for 5,000, which will pay for outdoor equipment.
