Pre-school practitioners will be able to share their views and experiences when the Scottish Pre-School Play Association holds its annual general meeting in Falkirk tomorrow (Friday). The conference at the Park Hotel aims to provide opportunities for parents, practitioners and policymakers involved in provision for pre-school children to learn about a range of practice issues and to focus on the importance of play within their pre-school groups. The keynote speakers will include Linda Kinney, head of Stirling Council's early years service. She said, 'We want to show that young children have the capacity and strive to learn. In the past we have seen children as lesser people. The main theme of the conference is about the fact children are not like that. They are people in their own right and we have to respect that. It requires different thinking in childcare.' For more information contact the Scottish Pre-School Play Association on 0141 221 4148.
