'Where's My Peg?' is designed for children and parents to use together. It includes games, activity sheets and checklists, plus a chart and stickers for children to show what they did in their first week. It is currently being piloted at selected areas throughout the UK.

Michael Jarrett, development officer for Save the Children, said, 'Starting school presents a mixture of emotions because nobody quite knows what school is going to be like. We found that in many cases it's the parents who are more worried than the children.'

The packs are currently available in 200 Adams stores and will be available nationwide in summer 2003. Parents, teachers and carers can get more information by calling the Adams helpline number, 02476 704228.
