Pre-school children at the Children's House Nursery in Stallingborough, Lincolnshire, will soon be working with a professional artist in residence following an award from the Arts Council. With the backing of the Arts Development Unit at North-East Lincolnshire Council, the setting has been given 5,000 to commission work with environmental artists in a project entitled Inside Out. The award means that three- to five-year-olds as well as older children at the Montessori School out-of-school club will be able to work with two visual artists next year. Director Sylvia Archer said, 'To have two professional artists working in different media is a very exciting opportunity. We are committed to extending the curriculum in innovative ways to promote creativity in an era when it is often sidelined.'
