Peter Peacock has replaced Cathy Jamieson as Scotland's minister for education and young people. Previously he held the post of deputy minister for finance and public services. His new responsibilities include school education, childcare, children's services, Gaelic, social work, HM Inspectorate for Education and the Scottish Qualifications Authority. Mr Peacock, a former deputy education minister, is also MSP for Highlands and Islands. Ms Jamieson becomes minister for justice.
