AN APPLE A DAY
Child First nursery in Northampton joined forces with Southcourt Environmental Group to mark 'Apple Day', an annual celebration of apples and orchards in England, on 21 October. As part of the event the children picked and prepared apples which were then pressed to make juice and enjoyed at tea time, with jacket potatoes cooked over a fire.
A ROYAL OCCASSION
Children at Highfield Nursery School in Chorley, Lancashire, enjoyed living a life of royalty for a week. For their mini topic, which followed on from their interest in pirates, the children dressed as princes and princesses and took part in role-play in their very own castle. Activities included making crowns and jewellery, and a tea party with miniature cakes made by the children.
