New childcare tax credit 'ready reckoner'

A new childcare tax credit 'ready reckoner' has been produced by the Daycare Trust to take in changes in Working Families' Tax Credit announced by chancellor Gordon Brown in April's Budget. The childcare tax credit element of WFTC will pay 70 per cent of parents' registered childcare costs up to 135 a week for one child and 200 a week for two or more children. Stephen Burke, Daycare Trust director, said, 'The new childcare tax credit ready reckoner means parents can find out how much help they can get to access quality childcare, possibly for the first time.' The ready reckoner is available from the Trust on 020 7840 3350.
