A guide to raise public awareness of the National Care Standards and what is expected of providers, including nurseries and childminders, has been published by the Scottish Executive. Deputy health minister Tom McCabe said it was essential that the public, not just providers and managers of care services, understood the standards. He also announced plans to regulate agencies providing temporary and relief staff, including nursery nurses, to 'ensure that our most vulnerable people are protected'.
