- A father of two has expressed disgust after spotting fruity cartoon characters in compromising positions on the wrappers of Haribo MAOAMs, said the Daily Mail. Simon Simpkins of Pontefract, Yorkshire, was buying sweets for his children when he noticed the lemons and cherries canoodling. Haribo replied that the packaging is very popular.

- A boy aged eight gained an A* in GCSE maths, reported the Guardian.Xavier Gordon Brown from Haywards Heath, Sussex, who is no relation tothe prime minister, also speaks three languages and plays violin,clarinet and piano.
