In brief...My Dad, My Protector conference

The role of fathers in preventing child abuse and neglect will be explored at a conference jointly sponsored by Fathers Direct and the NSPCC. It will consider how statutory and voluntary agencies can work with fathers and 'father figures', and support abused children by drawing on the help of non-abusing fathers. The event, called 'My Dad, My Protector?: Working with Fathers to Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect', costs 95 and is being held at the Britannia Street Conference and Meeting Centre, London, on 10 September. Members from all agencies who want to offer effective services for fathers are welcome. For further information call Jonathan Rallings on 020 7825 7423.
