A lack of social housing suitable for families means hundreds of thousands of children are living in overcrowded homes, according to a new report from the housing charity Shelter. The report, 'Full House?', surveyed 505 overcrowded families and found that three-quarters of children were forced to share a bedroom with their parents. A quarter of children had to sleep in rooms other than bedrooms due to a lack of space and nine out of ten children believed overcrowding was harming their education. Shelter is calling on the Government to commit to building 60,000 extra social rented homes. Visit www.shelter.org.uk.
