Children could find money in a sock with an art competition being run by the Starlight Children's Foundation, which supports the terminally-ill. Children in the age categories of three to seven years, eight to ten years, 11 to 14 years and 15 to 18 years are invited to design a sock based on the theme 'If I had one wish...'. The winning designs will be manufactured as real socks sold through the Sock Shop chain, and the winner will also receive 100 worth of art and design equipment plus 500 for their teacher or carer to spend on school materials. Teachers' packs and entry forms are available from Starlight by e-mailing socks@starlight.org.uk or phoning 020 7430 1642. The closing date is 31 July.
