Britain's first official reading dog gets to work

Five-year-olds Robert Prue, Frankie Manners and Connor Ward from Arden Forest Infant School in Bedworth, Warwickshire, share a book with Batman, a former racing greyhound, who is Britain's first official reading dog thanks to a project backed by the National Literacy Trust and National Autistic Society.

Reception teacher Debra Gage said, 'He puts his paw on the page and is very gentle with the children. It helps them interact and they enjoy sitting with him.'
