A graduated response

CWDC recognises the concerns that some practitioners have raised regarding those working within the sector without a degree but with substantial experience who are currently unable to undertake Early Years Professional status. However, evidence does suggest that provision led by someone at graduate level with substantial experience leads to better outcomes for children. During the widespread consultation process for the development of Early Years Profes- sional status, the early years sector widely endorsed the position of EYP being set at graduate level.

However, evidence does suggest that provision led by someone at graduate level with substantial experience leads to better outcomes for children.

During the widespread consultation process for the development of Early Years Profes- sional status, the early years sector widely endorsed the position of EYP being set at graduate level.

In addition, CWDC does recognise and value the benefit of practical skills and many years of experience. We are currently looking at ways we can help these very effective practitioners lift themselves to EYPS.

CWDC is working hard to ensure that we support all individuals to gain the skills needed to be part of a world class workforce. However, we do need the support of everyone to achieve this. We will be keeping you informed of new developments with EYPS.
