Self-regulation: soothing songs and snug places

Thursday, November 16, 2017

This seminar will look at self-regulation – the ability to manage our feelings, actions and thoughts – which is critical to our well-being and readiness to learn.

Its importance has been recognised by practitioners, researchers and now Government – in its recent response to the consultation on primary assessment.

The seminar will focus on self-regulation in the very young and show how songs, and the wider nursery environment, can help them to manage their emotions and engage in learning.

Presenting the session will be Alice Sharp, managing director of training centre, Experiential Play, and director of resource company, Wonderbox, specialising in interactive products for use with children under three. A firm favourite with visitors, Alice has been a regular speaker at NW Show seminars and masterclasses over many years.
