Julie Fisher is an independent early years adviser and author of Moving on to Key Stage 1 - Improving Transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage (Open University Press, April 2010).

Her three-part pull-out series begins with advice on preparing children for the move to Key Stage 1. Following parts will look at the learning and development needs of five- and  six-year-olds; and developmentally appropriate practice.
