Cookery corner: smoothie recipe
Monday, June 11, 2018
Help children drift off to sleep with this smoothie from The Children’s Sleep Charity Recipe Book, written by Hannah Bailey, a public health nutritionist.
The oats and yoghurt help make this a slow-release drink rather than a big sugar hit. You could add extra fruit and berries if you want. The banana provides tryptophan and magnesium, which are both important for sleep.
3 tbsp full-fat natural yoghurt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1. Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth, then serve.
The Children’s Sleep Charity Recipe Book was published to raise funds for the charity to continue its work and to support families by providing them with easy-to-follow recipes to promote a better night’s sleep for their children.
The book, priced £3 plus £1.50 p&p, is for sale on www.ebay.co.uk and at: www.thechildrenssleepcharity.org.uk/news/recipe-book-
