Wee Gems operates four sites across Edinburgh and West Lothian, with a combined capacity for 379 children.
Former owners Mahyar Mortazavi and Boyd Murdoch decided to sell Wee Gems so Boyd could retire and for Mahyar to seek other business interests after 17 years. Mahyar’s daughter, Pante-a-Mortazavi, will continue to work across the settings as ICP’s operation’s manager.
The deal sees ICP grow to 57 sites, providing more than 4,300 childcare places.
Jenna Caldwell, director of childcare & education at Redwoods Dowling Kerr, who handled the sale, said, ‘We received interest from far and wide but specifically Europe and the UK but ultimately Mahyar and Boyd felt that ICP were the perfect fit.
‘I wish all parties the very best with their future plans.’
