Give your views on effects of GCSE rules on staffing

The Early Years Trailblazer Group has launched a survey to find out how new requirements for Level 3 qualifications are affecting recruitment.

The Trailblazer Group has the remit to develop the new Apprenticeship framework at Level 3 for the early years sector.

To inform this process the group is keen to gain from employers information about the impact on staff recruitment and retention of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirement for all practitioners who hold the Early Years Educator (EYE) qualification to also hold GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C or above.

At Nursery World's recent Business Summit, an overwhelming majority of delegates said that the GCSE requirement was affecting recruitment and ultimately quality and sustainability.

Complete the short survey to provide your view on the current situation. All responses are confidential unless you choose to share further information. The closing date is 11 December.
