Find out about Nursery World's new EYFS Essentials videos, out now!

Thursday, July 15, 2021

Two new sets of Nursery World’s EYFS Essentials online training videos are now available to support early years providers with the start of the revised Early Years Foundation Stage in September – The Prime Areas of Learning and The Specific Areas of Learning.

These new sets follow the success of The Four Principles of the EYFS released earlier this year.

Our EYFS Essentials videos are presented by leading early years experts, who provide information and advice, accessible for all practitioners.

Ideal for staff training sessions and individual CPD, the videos will build up into a great resource for working with the revised EYFS curriculum in force from September 2021.

THE PRIME AREAS OF LEARNING

In this set of three 30-minute videos, early years consultant Anne O’Connor shows how Physical DevelopmentPersonal, Social & Emotional Development and Communication & Language are the universal core aspects of early child development, building the foundation for children’s learning.

Anne examines the educational programme and Early Learning Goals for each Prime Area in the revised EYFS and considers the implications for your practice.

THE SPECIFIC AREAS OF LEARNING

Early years consultants Helen Tate and Judith Twani present four 30-minute videos on the Specific Areas of Learning. They unpick the educational programme and Early Learning Goals for each Specific Area in the revised EYFS and give ideas for developing your practice and environment.

Helen gives a guide to Literacy and Mathematics, while Judith looks at Understanding the World and Expressive Arts & Design.

THE FOUR PRINCIPLES OF THE EYFS

In this set of four 30-minute videos, popular early years consultant and trainer Judith Twani explains how A Unique ChildPositive RelationshipsEnabling Environments and Learning & Development underpin the EYFS.

Judith explains the holistic way in which the four principles should work together to enable every child to have the best start in life, and looks at the key points that early years practitioners need to think about and incorporate into their practice.
