It's the turn of children's literature as the search for the nation's favourite book continues. Fay Ripley argues that the success of JK Rowling is not just down to hype and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is really about the magic of reading, while Sandi Toksvig recommends Little Women by Louisa May Alcott as a guide for everyone who is still growing up.

Private Passions: Quentin Blake BBC Radio 3, 12noon to 1pm

Artist Quentin Blake, noted for his collaboration with Roald Dahl, Russell Hoban and Joan Aitken, has also created delightful characters of his own, including Mr Magnolia and Mrs Armitage. In 1999, he was appointed the first-ever Children's Laureate and last year he won the Hans Christian Andersen award for illustration. Here he reveals some of his favourite music.
