The National Day Nurseries Association

The National Day Nurseries Association has appointed Sandra Welsby as its new national development manager for Wales. Ms Welsby's brief is to work with a number of partners and agencies, including the Welsh Assembly. She will establish infrastructure and support for NDNA members in Wales and conduct a survey on the extent of Welsh-medium provision in nurseries. Her previous experience includes setting up an early years unit at an independent school, managing a pre-school unit in a large day nursery and working as a childcare co-ordinator for Denbighshire EYDCP developing the National Childcare Strategy. Ms Welsby said, 'I look forward to raising awareness of the issues that nurseries in Wales face and working to promote quality in early years care and education'.
