
The new Ambassadors will support the Montessori Group’s focus of honouring Maria Montessori’s humanitarian legacy, helping them to build partnerships and to have a positive social impact internationally.
The appointment of the Duchess of York as chair follows her philanthropic work with families and commitment to supporting a wide range of children’s charities. Her daughter, Princess Eugenie, attended a Montessori nursery as a child.
The Duchess of York said that she was ‘thrilled’ to be invited to chair the group. ‘The Montessori approach encourages a love of learning and curiosity that is life-long, and this is something I’m very passionate about,’ she said. ‘It’s just as needed in today’s world as it was 100 years ago when Dr Maria Montessori developed her pedagogy.
