Montessori St Nicholas is celebrating a double anniversary, as 2019 marks 100 years of Montessori training in the UK, while its course provider, Montessori Centre International (MCI), turns 20.
To celebrate, the charity will be creating a new children’s garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
MCI also held a special ceremony for the 80 practitioners who graduated this year (pictured). It trains more than 300 students across the world each year on its diploma, foundation degree and professional development courses.
Penny Johns, MCI’s director of learning, said, ‘Twenty years marks a significant milestone for MCI. While the way we deliver training has transformed, Montessori practice itself remains relatively unchanged. Students on our courses learn how to establish and implement a core set of values within a contemporary early years context.’
