Light projections have been displayed on buildings across London to mark the 50th anniversary of children’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
Illustrations by author Eric Carle were projected onto locations including the London Eye, the National Theatre, Banqueting House, the Leake Street Tunnels and Granary Square(pictured).
Since it was published in June 1969, The Very Hungry Caterpillar has become a children’s classic, featuring in Book Trust’s top 25 books for under-fives and voted the best children’s book of all time by parents in a study by channelmum.com in 2018.
A copy of the book is sold somewhere in the world every 15 seconds – and it has been translated into more than 40 languages.
