Sunderland City Council invests for children's centre programme

Sunderland City Council is investing 1.5m in the second phase of its children's centre programme, with six new centres at Hetton Lyons Nursery School, Oxclose Primary and Nursery Schools, Houghton Community Nursery School, Millfield Community Nursery School, Grangetown Primary School and Dame Dorothy Primary School. Phase one of the programme is nearing completion, with 11 centres set to open by September. The new facilities will deliver integrated services to children between birth and 11-years-old, including day care, family support and child and family health facilities.
