Nurseries and pre-schools have shared a warning that a range of Nivea’s sun creams for ‘Kids’ now have almond oil in them, advising parents to stop bringing the products into settings, due to some children and staff having nut allergies.

Posts on social media, including Facebook, suggest that specifically, the Nivea Sun Kids ‘Protect & Care 5 in 1 ‘, 50 + sun cream now contains ‘Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil’, otherwise known as almond oil.

It is unknown where the original source of the claim comes from.

In a statement for Nursery World, Nivea confirms it has added almond oil to its Sun Kids protect & Care range this year. However, it says that the oil used is ‘refined in a way that there is no known food allergic potential.’
