Mind their reading

The Parent's Guide to reading (23 January) omitted childminders in the reference to those people who help children develop their reading skills. Lots of childminders, and particularly those who are accredited through the National Childminding Association's Children Come First scheme, plan activities to develop these skills just the same as nurseries, pre-schools and reception classes do. I hope childminders will be recognised in future Parent's Guides.
