A selection of leaves newsprint brown sugar paper white paper crayons chalk or pastels paint an old toothbrush
Step by step
* Take the children on a walk and gather leaves of different shapes that have fallen from the trees.
* Encourage the children to look closely at the leaves that have been gathered and sort them into sets by colour and shape.
* Explain to the children that they are going to use their leaves creatively. Place a leaf under a sheet of newsprint and rub over the top of it with the flat side of a crayon.
