What made you decide to launch a childminding service?
We have both managed nurseries for many years and felt ready to start our own business together, with the aim of providing a unique and professional service to parents in our local community. We launched Puddleducks Childcare in May and have had lots of interest from parents and positive feedback.
How many children do you care for?
We currently take six children aged between four months and ten years at any one time, although we have 14 children on our register.
We employ two members of staff, Chantelle and Natalie, who work as childminding assistants, and are very valuable members of our team.
In September, we will be providing an after-school club for one of the local schools.
How much childcare experience do you have between you?
We have over 36 years' combined experience working with children, and spent seven years working together in a nursery.
Candice has achieved her BA Honours, and Deb has completed her early years foundation degree and is hoping to complete her final year in the near future.
