Children at Kidzrus Media City Nursery in Salford were very excited to be visited by Father Christmas.
Spring Seesaw nursery in Braintree held a Christmas fayre for children and their families to get into the Christmas spirit, listen to a band playing a selection of carols, taste homemade mince pies and enjoy a visit from Santa.
Bright Horizons Asquith Cheshunt Pre-School and Day Nursery held an Elf Day to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. Children enjoyed Christmas activities which the staff set up, while parents were offered a grab-and-go breakfast.
Toad Hall Nursery in Haslemere has been raising money for local children’s charity Dreams Come True with a Christmas fayre featuring a guest visit from Olaf the snowman.
Children at Bright Horizons Asquith Warrington Pre-School and Day Nursery went on a walk to post their letters to Father Christmas. ‘Along the way we saw a big swan, heard some dogs barking and talked about the foggy weather,’ said nursery manager Kelly Byrne.
Celebrations have been held at Bright Horizons Forest Park Bracknell Day Nursery and Preschool for St Nicholas Day. The children spoke about being kind to one another and how it is important to be kind like St Nicholas. They then sat down and cleaned their shoes before leaving them outside the door.
Children at Bright Horizons Cramond Early Learning and Childcare in Edinburgh were excited to have their Christmas lights turned on this week by local minister Reverend Barr who switched on the lights around the nursery. The children were able to enjoy a range of festive activities including making icing for Christmas biscuits as well as eco-friendly reindeer food.
The children and team at Kiddi Caru Chelmsford have been visiting Aylett’s Care Home every week and recently took the residents some Christmas biscuits to share and treated them to a Christmas singalong. The children and residents are looking forward to lots more visits in the new year.
Fledglings Day Nursery in Bredbury, Stockport has a close relationship with neighbouring Appleton Manor Care Home. Usually children visit the residents, but specially for Christmas the residents came to the nursery where everyone sang carols together and enjoyed tea and cakes.
Pre-School children and staff at Hopscotch Under Fives Nursery in Kilburn created a Santa's grotto in their room with a huge range of festive decorations. They coloured balloons with silver and gold paint and added glitter so they could be hung from the ceiling, made Christmas trees using triangular cut shapes, and created snowman globes and Christmas wreaths using paper plates for the grotto’s backdrop.
Children in the pre-school room at Jolly Tots Nursery in Burley in Wharfedale entered a competition to design a cake topper for the nursery Christmas cake. Here is this year’s winner with her Mr Santa design.
