Position: Assistant manager at Busy Bees Nursery, Walsall

How did you feel about becoming Best Practice Network's 1,000th EYP?

I was shocked and excited. It was lovely to get recognition for the hard work I have put into my professional development over the past years.

How did you balance studying alongside working full time?

My journey through my foundation degree while working full time was initially a struggle but careful time management was key to my success and ticking off my "to-do" list once tasks were complete was my motivation. During the final year of the degree I also had my first child - instead of giving up I was motivated more than ever to ensure I achieved my professional goals.

What are your future plans for your career?

As assistant manager at Busy Bees Day Nursery in Walsall, my plans for the immediate future are to ensure I create an inclusive environment, which provides opportunities for meaningful learning and development for children aged from birth to five-years-old. Alongside this, my goal is to further develop my leadership and management skills.
