Consultation on the publication of statistics on early years providers and places and inspection outcomes

Ofsted is proposing to revise the publication of statistics relating to early years inspections and the number of registered childcare providers and places.
The consultation seeks views on:
- changing the frequency of the releases
- combining the two releases (inspection outcomes/numbers of providers and places)
- streamlining the releases to make them more focused and user-friendly
- removing childminder information from the charts on registered childcare providers and places, replacing it with childcare numbers over time only.
The consultation document was published on 25 September.
Clsoing date for the consultation is 28 November 2014.
The results will be published in early 2015.
