Nursery group takes on more council nurseries

Monday, January 15, 2018

Nursery group Tiny Toez has won its bid to manage more local authority nurseries.

The group, which operates settings throughout the West Midlands and London, now manages three of Coventry City Council’s nurseries.

The settings – Tiny Toez@Tile Hill, Tiny Toez@ Barley Lea, and Tiny Toez@ Bell Green, were originally term-time only and open to just pre-school children. However, under the nursery group’s management they now operate all year round and care for children from birth.

A spokesperson for Tiny Toez said that occupancy across all three settings was going from ‘strength to strength’. The nursery group is currently running a recruitment campaign to employ more staff.

This is the third group of council nurseries the chain operates. In 2013, Tiny Toez won a tender to run some of Staffordshire County Council’s settings, as well as nurseries on behalf of Hounslow Council.

Tiny Toez now operates 16 settings, offering more than 1,000 childcare places.

In last year’s Nursery Chains, Tiny Toez ranked number 21 in the top 25 largest nursery chains in the UK.

Co-director of Tiny Toez Ranjana Mair said that the new nurseries, which are based in areas of high deprivation, were a good fit for the group which has experience of operating settings within similar communities.
