Busy Bees managing director Marg Randles has been awarded an OBE for her services to childcare.

Busy Bees managing director Marg Randles has been awarded an OBE for her services to childcare.

Marg and her family dropped off her 18-month-old grandson Louis at Busy Bees at Westminster nursery, before heading to Buckingham Palace to receive the medal from Prince William. They then returned to Louis (not pictured) at the nursery to be greeted with balloons, bunting and cake in celebration. The children had also prepared flowers and handmade cards of congratulations.

The palace trip included Marg's son Jack and daughter Emma, who were among the first children to enrol at the first Busy Bees nursery, The Rocklands, in Lichfield. Founded in 1983, Busy Bees is now the largest nursery chain in the UK.

Co-founder and chief executive John Woodward will also be honoured in December.
